Our Vision

A Message From Our Founder

Welcome to Freedom Schoolhouse, a back-to-the-basics approach to education! This started as a calling from God at a time when we were having to make decisions about schooling for our own children. We knew we wanted a school that offered academic excellence, Biblical truth, and experiential learning opportunities for them. Childhood is so fleeting, and God intended it to be full of life, movement, growth and learning! We sought out a place where they can sit to learn the fundamentals and not be capped in their growth because of a curriculum or their grade level. We wanted them to soar past what standards or grade levels said they should or could do. We desired a school that would reinforce Biblical teachings and teach them how much Jesus loves them, preparing them to go forth into the world as a light. Homeschooling was heavy on our hearts prior to starting this school. We dreamed of our children being on the farm and spending days in the garden or on the tractor with dad after completing their schoolwork at the kitchen table. As the calling from God came, we knew He was asking us to give these same opportunities to the children in our community. As these kids grow into adults, we know the opposition they will face. We hope and pray, as we build a family within this schoolhouse, that these children will grow up knowing they have brothers and sisters in Christ to walk through their lives with.  We look forward to having you come alongside us this first year as we anxiously anticipate the arrival of students to the schoolhouse in August 2025.

Love,

Karlie

Academics

We will offer a curriculum that is rooted in a Biblical worldview throughout all subjects such as math, science, language arts, and social studies. Students will receive a balance of both indoor classroom time, along with learning opportunities immersed in nature, as we see the value for children to receive a diverse mix of teaching strategies.

Faith & Values

In addition to seamlessly weaving Biblical truth into our academics, we will have daily time for prayer, discussions of faith, and studying God’s word. Our students will be taught a respect for our freedoms, flag, and our great nation. We will acknowledge and give thanks to our servicemen and women who have sacrificed so much to afford us those freedoms. Work ethic and responsibility will be reinforced through academics and farm experiences. The children will learn it is a privilege to participate in special farm activities and that our school work must come first.

Farm Experience

Our country schoolhouse is set in a perfect landscape for students to get their hands dirty. We will have farm animals on the property for them to care for, interact with, and learn about. We have plans for a greenhouse and garden for the students to tend to.  Lord willing, we will harvest our crops and learn to prepare food and preserve it. With the completion of the kitchen, we look forward to working together to learn to make food from scratch. Our students will have unbridled access to the great outdoors to enjoy and explore God's creation.
